The Lust List

Happy Thursday...one day closer to Friday...thank God!
I am so ready for the weekend, I have so many projects that I have going on my head and no time to do them. I'm dedicating my weekend to at least getting one DIY done and finishing my creating space. This week has been super busy for me and I've been exhausted. Trying to get your life where it needs to be is tiring and my life is no where I want it to be...so I'll keep working on it and blogging!  Today here's a few things I've been lusting over in my mind...here's my Lust List

I'm seriously lusting over this green velvet bench from TJ Maxx, wish I owned a house to put it in.
And last, I just decided I want a gallery wall...

and an inspiration pin board over my creating space, this is Erika's from small shop studio

I like both ideas & I want to combine the two. Since I already have a vision board the inspiration pin board will be dedicated to all the things that inspire me to create. Hopefully I can get all this done this weekend!

Currently Infatuated with Mavric Reigns

I am totally in love with the artwork of Mavric Reigns. He describes  himself as an artistic womanizer which is the only womanizing I can dig. He's also a fashion artist and I am infatuated with all his pieces. They remind me of my inner diva, vibrant and full of swag. Stalk him on  his tumblr page. I know for sure when I get my own place one of his pieces will definitely be on the wall!

Weekend Babble & Side Table DIY

Afternoon peeps! Hope all of you had an happening weekend...I did... kind of. I went out with my uncle for dinner and partying. I had a great time even though I was kind of sick..I prob had bitchface the whole time even though I felt busting a move on the dance floor inside.

I love this poster! Its the story of my life! Any hoo, that's the extent of the exciting part of my weekend. I had some DIYs I planned to do but I kind of watch everything on demand instead...sometimes it beez like that! I'll get to my projects eventually... I hope.
I did some online dream shopping which to me is the best. Although I didn't actually buy it, mentally I did and I rocked it fabulously with all eyes on me at party/club/event. Women lusting over my outfit while the men were lusting after me! I dream big!
The best part about dream shopping I DIDN'T spend any money! The worst part about is that I'm a compulsive shopper so eventually I'll probably get it.

Whoop Whoop! I already have the lipstick so I don't have to get that. I do have one DIY I forgot to post. It was the creative genius of my auntie. She did this in like 2min...I walked outside to get my shoes and I came back it was already set up

It's a side table! From a frame, vase, and candles. I thought she was a genius because all weekend those items were in the way. Ok in the pic it looks likes like candles on top of a frame on top of a vase but in person it was the bomb.com!
Well that's it for today

Vintage Beauties

I stumbled upon this photo on pinterest and fell in love immediately! I wish I knew where the photo came from so I could see if they have more. I'm in love with vintage photos and paintings of glamorous black women, I used to  have photos of Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne, Billie Holiday, and Josephine Baker framed on my wall in college. Now that I'm home i'll be using pics of my grandmothers when they were younger. One of my grandmothers use to work at the Royal Peacock so I will be definitely putting up all her glam pics!

Currently Infatuated

I recently saw the  Palais Des Sentiments Campaign from Vlisco and I melted at least 100 times. Their fabrics are beautiful! I'm obsessed with the vibrant colors & patterns! My favorite thing about African prints is that you can mix and match patterns and colors. If you want a hint of color you can add a few accessories or just be fab and decorate the whole room in African prints.

Island Get Away

Happy Monday! My Aunt just relocated to the Virgin Islands and she sent some pics of her porch and the view from her new house.

This is the view from her bedroom

I leave to visit her in a couple of weeks and I can't wait! This is a much needed vacation! This is one of my inspirations for the beach

I think I'm obsessed with anything peach!

Wish List

I was browsing KisforKinky.com and I fell in love with this neon bodycon dress from Wallis and matched it up with Costa Chic lipstick which is a pretty coral color and a tribal clutch. All three are on my wish list. Before the summer is over I really want to get some blue pumps but I'm pretty sure they won't be Christian Louboutin's. I stay fly on a budget! Added earrings, a ring and bracelets

Zebra Print Dresser

My dresser is the project I am the proudest of because it was my first. After I finished it I felt like a true badass!!!
I needed a dresser and refused to pay for one so, I didn't! I was sooo lucky that my aunt wanted to get rid of the old dresser she had and gave it to me for free.

This is the before. We ditched the mirror and she nailed a framed metal plate to fill the space of a missing dresser. My auntie is a creative genius! First I primed and then spray painted it. The top part I used a stencil which was a complete pain! I recommend free-handing it because the paint would bleed through the stencil or not align correctly leaving me to do a lot of touch ups. Stenciling was also very time consuming. A few curse words later, I finally finished stenciling the top of the dresser. For the rest of the dresser I free-handed the zebra stripes which was the best idea I had all day! I spray painted the hardware metalic gold, added a small magnetic earring stud on the metal plate and Wah lah! I have a zebra printed dresser!

Peacocking

One of my favorite style inspirations are peacock feathers. I love how the colors are so bold and bright. When I do I get my own home I will definetly have a peacock inspired room.

Naomi from design manifest office nook is to die for! Her entire home is amazing!

My favorite colors of the feather are the teals, plums and golds!
